TRAINING WORKS, FALL 1999, designed
for the Workers Health and Safety Centre. I scanned an
old, worn playing card for the cover art. I originally
inverted the illustration because the magazine’s
title box would have obscured the king’s face if
it was right side up. Later I felt that I had made the
right decision because the inverted art contributes
instability to the design and works with the notion of
“gambling”. What can I say? Just luck.
